NAWBO PAC

The NAWBO Political Action Committee (NAWBO PAC) is a non-partisan federal PAC.  The PAC fund serves the public policy strategic objectives of NAWBO by providing a means for making financial contributions to federal officeholders and candidates in federal elections whose continued service or election will enhance NAWBO’s ability to achieve its objectives.

Women business owners no longer can just sit back and hope for…access to affordable health care insurance; increased federal procurement opportunitites for women entrepreneurs; and fair and equitable tax treament for small business.

A Winning Strategy
The NAWBO Political Action Committee (NAWBO PAC) supports Congressional candidates who will deliver on Capitol Hill.  member contributiosn are reserved for hotly contested races where PAC monies have the biggest impact in support of pro-women business owner candidates.

In the 2006 cycle, the NAWBO PAC strategy paid off. In a year when many incumbents faced defeat, a surprising 67 percent of our nine endorsed candidates were victorious. That's money well spent! NAWBO is especially proud to claim newly re-elected Representative Melissa Bean (IL-8) as one of our own. Rep. Bean, a former member of NAWBO’s Chicago Chapter, was again supported by the NAWBO PAC and won another hard-fought race!

Formed in 1999, the NAWBO PAC is a non-partisan Federal PAC that endorses and provides financial contributions to candidates who support NAWBO’s public policy platform. When selecting candidates to support, the NAWBO PAC considers:

  • Is the candidate a NAWBO member?
  • Is the candidate a business owner?
  • Is the candidate supportive of NAWBO issues?
  • Does the candidate hold a leadership position on a legislative committee key to NAWBO’s interests?

Giving Circles

NAWBO PAC proudly announces its annual PAC Giving Circles. These circles are named for women on whose shoulders we stand today.

  • Abigail Adams Giving Circle ($2,500 to $5,000). In our country's infancy, Adams influenced public policy by articulating her views to her politically powerful husband, President John Adams. View members of the Abigail Adams Giving Circle.
  • Susan B. Anthony Giving Circle ($1,000 to $2,499). Anthony dedicated her life to women's suffrage, women's rights to own property, and women’s rights to attend institutions of higher learning. View members of the Susan B. Anthony Giving Circle.
  • Jeannette Rankin Giving Circle ($500 to $999). Rankin became the first woman elected to the US House of Representatives and the first woman in any western democracy to be elected to a national legislature. View members of the Jeannette Rankin Giving Circle.
